Why by hand, why aloud

Three things only you can do.

01

Writing stays.

Your hand is slower than a keyboard. That is why what you write by hand stays in memory.

02

Speaking confirms.

Until you say it aloud, you cannot know whether it has truly become yours.

03

Notebooks become records.

Every word and sentence you write stays on the page. Over time, your notebooks become a record you can hold in your hands.

Learning flow

Listen and read, notebook, write and speak.

sparta completes the full cycle take input in, organize it in your notebook, output with your hand and voice.

Two practices

Homework and Private.

Write

sparta homework class

Speak

sparta private class

Four one-on-one sessions a month. Speak aloud what you studied, get real-time correction. 20-minute or 50-minute formats.

Two practices

Dictation and copying.

Dictation

Dictation

Spoken, colloquial practice. Listen to news audio and write by hand. Build rhythm and expression for speaking.

Copying

Copying

Written, formal style practice. Read news articles and copy by hand. Build structure and sentence patterns for writing.

The notebooks

Two notebooks. One system.

sparta is built around two physical BEUL notebooks. Together, they turn scattered study into something you can hold in your hands.

Input

Surugi notebook

For vocabulary and grammar. Organize what you hear and read.

Output

Sparta notebook

Manuscript-ruled paper. For homework. Where your writing takes shape.

FAQ

Questions.

How is sparta different from onstaroom?
onstaroom is a supervised study room space and rhythm for focused hours. sparta is output practice homework and one-on-one speaking. Many members use both: onstaroom for routine, sparta for practice.
Do I need both homework and private class?
No. Homework class alone covers the writing practice. Private class adds real-time speaking correction. Many take both, but it is your choice.
What is the content plan?
Self-study materials only news-based audio and script. No individual comments. Dictation (Mon, Thu) and copying (Tue, Fri), $11 per month each. For strong self-learners.
Do I need the BEUL notebooks?
Highly recommended. The Surugi notebook organizes vocabulary and grammar; the Sparta notebook is manuscript-ruled for homework. Over time, they become your personal learning record.
Which level should I start at?
Contact us and we will recommend one level based on your current skill. Choose from six levels, beginner to advanced.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. You keep access through the end of the current billing month; billing stops from the next month.
